Home Staging...Home Styling

The secrets to a beautiful home are sometimes as simple as a new set of bedding and a few strategically placed mirrors. Or as large as a new piece of furniture. Whatever the case may be in your home be very careful and selective in yoru choices. Don't just buy it because you fall in "love" with it. Make sure it fits your style and your lifestyle.

If you need help in making selections that will stand the test of time you may wish to have a second opinion, one of an iterior decorator or home stylist. An opinion that will affirm your style and help you maintain it.

Both of the items are available in my product line. Call me at 615-481-1399, or email me for a style consultation.

Wow, Where Have I Been?

I have been away for a long time. Blogging on Word press and forgetting about my Blogger account. Shame on me. It is just like this little floor lamp, I was tossed on the street never to shed light on anything again. Well we are both back. Picked up from the street with a new dress and hat and ready to go. So let's shed some light on a few things today. 1) there is great pleasure in re purposing items rather than tossing them aside. 2) great satisfaction can be gleamed when you re-create and like it. 3) there is no such think as old.

So take a look around you every day to see if there is a way to re purpose things...even how you feel can be re purposed. Try it. If you need help with the things I can help. 615-481-1399.

Real Estate Staging

When you decide to place your home on the market contact a professional real estate stager. If you contact your Realtor first, ask them "who is your staging consultant". Most Realtors have a stager on their team to help you with the details of preparing your home for the market.

You can find a stager in your area by logging on to Real Estate Staging Association, put in your zip code. These stagers are accredited, educated, professional, and keep their education current.

Here are some before and after pictures that can help you determine whether your house needs the services of a professional stager:

Cleaning and decluttering are not enough. The services of a professional accredited real estate stager will pay off big time in ensuring your house is viewed by the new owner in a positive light. This house was under contract in less than 16 hours after being placed on the market with their Realtor. Their Realtor believes in staging and ask the team at Interior Redesign and Home Staging to consult with their sellers every time prior to placing the house on the market.

Reflections at Christmas

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. When else can we bring out bright & shiny color, lights, bows and all that glows and decorate our homes and outdoors. The lights on people houses bring such joy. It shows that they care, and that they believe.

From Santa to snow ladies, we place each piece with care. It is a time to display things we have collected for years, and add a few new twist each year. It is a time for us to enjoy having people in our homes, lighting the candles and warming our hearts our conversations we share. Time to reflect on the past year, the mistakes, the successes... the thankfulness that we are here to enjoy our family and friends once again.

Remembering the reason for the season, the nativity scene that tells us of hope, never failing and always there....he celebration of life eternal.

Smiling faces in unusual places, people saying hello wherever they go. What a joyous time when strangers take a second to smile and say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Seasons Greetings to people they don't know. Just imagine if this feeling never ends,  each one of us taking a moment to let the season stay with us...let's begin.

Let's all light the yuletide candles, each one with care, making sure we say our own silent prayer. The New Year soon to begin, let's keep the spirit and hope of Christmas in our hearts... now...and why not then.

Merry Christmas and God Bless each and everyone.

Christmas Decorations 2009

Many Christmases ago I gave my husband a train. For years we placed it under the tree at our home and every year all of the nieces and nephews got to play with the train. Several years ago we sold our home and moved to a town home. Unfortunately, no room for the train. For the past three years the train has remained in its box even though we both love the train. This year, great idea from my husband, the train found a new home above the cabinets in the kitchen. There are two spotlights on the opposite side of the kitchen shining on the train and it is beautiful.

Thinking outside the box can bring joy!
